A cosmetology/barber license will let you work in any facility licensed by the state of California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology, including:

- Entertainment (Film, TV, Print, Runway)
- Cruise Ships
- Platform Artists
- Research & Development
- Beauty Editors
- Teachers

Cosmetology Course – 1,600 Clock Hours
Barbering Course – 1,500 Clock Hours
Manicure – 400 Clock Hours
Teacher Trainee Program – 600 Clock Hours
Transfer of credits from one course of instruction to another:
Cosmetology to Barbering – 300 Clock Hours
Barbering to Cosmetology – 200 Clock Hours
After you complete the hours required for your program, and have a grade of 75% or better, you will become eligible to take the California State Board Licensing Exam for Cosmetologist, Barbering, or Manicurist. Upon passing the exam, you will then become licensed in the program of your choice.

- Birth Certificate, Residence Card, or Citizenship Certificate
- High School Diploma (or equivalent), G.E.D.
